Join our supportive community and help prioritize health! Humana is excited to welcome interns into our Finance & Accounting Internship Program, with the first rotation starting on June 15, 2026. This program is perfect for students who are ready to apply their classroom knowledge in a vibrant, real-world business setting while exploring various areas within Finance and Accounting. As a Finance & Accounting intern, you will have the opportunity to rotate through different departments approximately every six months and engage in a variety of tasks such as creating financial transactions, analyzing data, and communicating financial insights to teams and leadership. This role requires candidates to be able to commute to our office in Louisville, KY on a daily basis, throughout the year due to the on-site work requirement. Program Highlights: Dive into a dynamic, year-round part-time internship in Louisville, KY Gain comprehensive experience through departmental rotations every six months, beginning each January and June Enhance your knowledge by collaborating with leaders in key financial sectors, including Accounts Payable, Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, Financial Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, and Treasury Key Responsibilities: Lead detailed account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial data across various business units Perform thorough variance analyses, offering insights that support strategic decisions and optimize finances Develop and manage complex tax schedules to uphold compliance and effective tax planning Prepare and post accurate monthly journal entries, supporting timely financial closing Oversee accounts payable processes, improving workflows and fostering strong supplier relationships Engage in audit walkthroughs and conduct thorough control testing to strengthen internal controls and assist in successful audits Create and interpret advanced spreadsheets, transforming data into practical insights for cross-functional teams Make your impact with your skills! Required Qualifications: Expected graduation date of May 2027 or later to ensure you can complete at least one year in the internship program (June 2026 - June 2027) Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, or a related graduate-level business degree/certificate (such as MBA or MAcc) Enrollment in 9+ credit hours per semester for undergraduate or 6+ credit hours for graduate students Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in Finance/Accounting throughout the program Completion of an intermediate Finance and/or Accounting course is required Availability to start in June 2026, participating year-round and rotating through departments for a minimum of one year (until June 2027) Ability to work 20-25 hours per week year-round in Louisville, KY Must reside within a daily commutable distance to our Louisville office for the duration of the internship Preferred Qualifications: Previous internship or work experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field Completion of advanced coursework in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analytics Demonstrated leadership skills through extracurricular activities, student organizations, or part-time work Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel Self-motivated and organized, able to manage school and work responsibilities Enthusiasm for thriving in a fast-paced environment Note: Humana does not provide visa sponsorship or support for OPT/CPT/J1 for this internship position. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 1 Pay Range: This compensation range reflects a good faith estimate of starting pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
