About the Role We are seeking On-Call and Part-Time Construction Inspectors at various experience levels to become a key part of our Community Building team. You'll play an essential role in supporting public infrastructure projects, primarily focusing on roadway and utility construction. Your Responsibilities: Conduct daily on-site inspections of industrial wastewater, roadway, utility, or vertical construction projects to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations. Monitor contractor activities to confirm adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and contract standards. Thoroughly document field activities, project progress, and any deviations using detailed inspection reports, photographs, and communication logs. Review and verify contractor quantities for payment and assist in preparing progress payment estimates. Inspect and observe the installation of underground utilities including stormwater, sanitary sewer, and potable water systems. Support quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) efforts by coordinating and verifying materials testing. Maintain clear communication and coordination among contractors, design teams, client representatives, utility providers, third-party inspectors, specialty consultants, jurisdictions, and other partners. Identify non-conforming work, suggest corrective actions, and track their resolution. Assist in project closeout by developing and verifying punch lists, reviewing record drawings, and performing final inspections. Produce daily photographs and inspection reports to upload to project files, ensuring organized records are maintained to meet company and client standards. Ability to navigate challenging field conditions such as confined spaces, vertical structures, and variable surface conditions. Your Qualifications: At least 3 years of construction inspection experience, preferably in public infrastructure projects. Strong capability to interpret construction specifications and drawings. Familiarity with WSDOT and local construction standards. Knowledge of water/wastewater utility systems, including pipe installation and pump stations. An associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Preferred certifications include WAQTC, NICET, OSHA 10 or 30, First Aid/CPR, USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors, and confined space certification. Valid Washington State Driver's License is required. Capacity to load/unload equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and to upload project photos and reports. Compensation: The hourly rate for this position ranges from $40 to $60, based on factors such as your education, experience, and the specifics of your role. Why Choose Parametrix?
