Company: Allegheny Health Network Job Description: GENERAL OVERVIEW: As a Casual Athletic Trainer I, you will play a vital role in recognizing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries for athletes at all levels, including professional, amateur, and recreational. You will work independently, guided by Senior Staff, the Sports Medicine Supervisor, and Team Physicians to ensure smooth daily operations within the athletic medicine program at a local school district. Your responsibilities will also include communication with athletic directors, coaches, school nurses, parents, and athletes to manage injuries effectively. Additionally, you will design exercise programs, maintain records, assist with facility cleanliness, and monitor supplies for the athletic program. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluate and manage athlete injuries, maintaining medical files and acting as a liaison between athletes, parents, and physicians. Prepare athletes for practice or competition. (50%) Serve as a communication bridge between school administrators, nurses, coaches, and parents to effectively educate, manage, and facilitate athletes' return to play, especially for those dealing with concussions. (20%) Implement treatment and rehab programs under physician supervision, while developing training and conditioning programs for both injured and healthy athletes. (20%) Assist in cleaning the facility each night and ensuring equipment is organized. (10%) Perform additional duties as assigned or required. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 0-1 years' experience. Current state licensure as a certified Athletic Trainer or eligible, or Temporary Practice Permit. National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) certification or Temporary license. CPR - American Heart Association certification. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Preferred 1-3 years' experience. Experience with concussion baseline testing software. Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Current state driver's license.
