We are committed to preventing theft and fraud while maintaining product availability for all. Our team builds strong partnerships, including collaboration with store leaders and public safety officials. As a Security Specialist at Target, you will gain: Skills in using intelligence-driven strategies to ensure safety at our locations. Experience in crisis response and safety management, supporting both guests and team members. Expertise in de-escalation techniques, enhancing physical security measures. Proficiency in utilizing video surveillance tools. Experience in documenting incidents clearly and accurately. A typical day as a Security Specialist may involve: Creating a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests at the store entrance. Maintaining a secure environment by monitoring safety standards throughout the store and exterior. Responding to and documenting security incidents promptly and thoroughly. Addressing guest concerns to maintain a safe shopping experience. Utilizing de-escalation techniques when managing security issues. Assisting in merchandise theft recoveries, adhering to company policies. Conducting merchandise checks to prevent loss, recognizing trends in theft. Submitting timely documentation for incidents as per policy. Understanding and effectively using the video surveillance system. Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct and safety. Working safely and reporting hazards as necessary. Completing any additional business-related duties as needed. Are open to a flexible work schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. We provide excellent training to equip you for success in this role. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Must meet all necessary state or local licensure requirements. Presents a welcoming and helpful demeanor towards guests and team members. Ability to communicate effectively on various devices and use technology as needed. Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Capability of managing workload effectively and prioritizing tasks. Ability to focus and remain composed in a busy work environment. Additional expectations include: Ability to use ladders safely. Compliance with procedures for apprehending individuals as per company policy. Safe handling and moving of merchandise, including items weighing up to 40 pounds. Agreement to a flexible work schedule; reliable attendance is essential. Willingness to work in various weather conditions. Ability to remain mobile during your scheduled shift.
