Registered Nurse - MICU

Job Summary - Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse - Nights - Provide direct patient care in the MICU during night shifts (3x12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend; no on-call). - Care for critically ill patients with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2. - Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for all documentation (EPIC experience required). - Deliver advanced nursing care to patients with complex conditions such as multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure. - Initiate and manage IVs; demonstrate proficiency in starting IV lines. - Monitor and interpret telemetry data for continuous cardiac assessment. - Operate and manage ventilators competently for patients requiring respiratory support. - Administer and monitor numerous specialized therapies, including continuous glucose monitoring and externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients. - Utilize advanced medical equipment such as NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pump, GE cardiac monitor, GE ventilator, and boom lifts in patient rooms. - Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. - Maintain current certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only). - Preferred qualifications include previous travel nursing experience and advanced proficiency in EPIC system. - Adhere to established MICU protocols, safety standards, and infection control measures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
