We seek a dedicated Sleep Study Technician / Respiratory Care Specialist to deliver comprehensive sleep testing and interventions, including performing titrations. This role also involves analyzing recordings and preparing reports during daytime hours. You will play a key role in training and supervising sleep trainees. We offer full-time, part-time, and per diem (PRN) positions. Duties and Responsibilities: Promote the mission, vision, and values of SomniTech. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. Verify patient identification, review orders, and obtain consent upon arrival. Build effective relationships with patients, families, and staff. Adhere to safety and infection control standards as per regulations. Explain procedures and orient patients for sleep testing, whether in-center or at-home. Follow material cleaning protocol and practice Universal Precautions. Ensure equipment functionality, requesting maintenance or repairs as needed. Document accurately on all records and participate in quality improvement activities. Stage sleep for studies and apply electrodes and sensors according to established standards. Conduct PAP interface fitting and desensitization. Respond to patient inquiries regarding procedures with accurate information. Perform tests like the Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT) to gather relevant data. Calibrate physiological measures to ensure data integrity, conducting visual checks at the start of each shift. Complete timely scanning, uploading, and paperwork management. Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education programs. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow Center policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to analyze and interpret patient data effectively. Strong written communication and customer service skills. Attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities. Motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively. Superior organizational abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks. Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word). Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions. Qualifications/Requirements: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) preferred. Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT/RPFT) valued. Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT-SDS) desired. High school diploma or equivalent required. Current CPR or BLS certification needed.
