Responsibilities Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital Patient population includes high acuity ICU cases such as vented patients, BIS scoring, TTM, and rare IABP cases Registered Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2, occasionally 1:3 Titration of drips including vasopressors/inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, and insulin is required eICU support is present in 14 of the 16 rooms No nurse aides or patient care techs on the unit Uses Epic EMR system 12-hour night shifts with 6-week scheduling and every other weekend required May be required to float to PCU or MedSurg units Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to a variety of ICU patients, including managing mechanical ventilators and titratable drips Charge nurse present each shift; charge nurse does take assignments Holiday shifts rotate with permanent staff Navy blue scrubs required RTO must be requested upfront, limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contract, and no additional RTO will be approved Orientation includes classroom training plus two 12-hour unit shifts Positive and collaborative teamwork skills are highly valued Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Requirements Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years recent ICU RN experience required Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Driver's license required to verify permanent address outside 50-mile radius Must not have held full time, part time, or PRN employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years Must pass an open book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% Artificial nails are not permitted in patient care areas Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-666559.
