We are looking for an innovative National BRT & Complete Streets Design Leader who will spearhead impactful corridor programs nationwide. In this role, you will define national design standards, nurture budding technical talent, and oversee the seamless execution of intricate BRT and Complete Streets projects from inception to completion. This role is vital for enhancing our national transit and urban mobility capabilities, ensuring design uniformity, and supporting a growing array of corridor design initiatives. What You Will Do: Lead Complex Corridor Designs: Direct the technical delivery of comprehensive Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and multimodal design projects. Design Integration: Lead the design of both center-running and curbside BRT stations, ensuring they blend seamlessly with civil, traffic, ITS, and urban design disciplines. Collaboration: Oversee transit signal priority coordination and work closely with ITS and signal engineering teams. Design Excellence: Deliver corridor designs through final design (PS&E), assuring high-quality plans, specifications, estimates, and justifiable design choices. Set Standards & Drive Technical Excellence: Create standardized design approaches for BRT and Complete Streets initiatives, including typical sections and technical playbooks. Cultivate strong relationships within the transit and multimodal design sectors, including public agencies and program partners. Mentor and Elevate Future Leaders: Guide emerging Project Technical Leaders and corridor task leads across various regions. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance national competencies in BRT and multimodal corridor design. Offer insights on design choices, modeling techniques, technical documentation, and justifiable design rationale. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineering (PE) license. 10 years of relevant experience. Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed, with travel frequency depending on workload and specific project requirements. Equivalent additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in BRT, Complete Corridors, and multimodal design. Experience delivering at least one corridor project through final design (PS&E). Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary design teams. Experience in developing design criteria, specifications, and cost estimates. Expertise in managing design justifications and exceptions. Proficient in Civil 3D corridor modeling workflows. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Experience supporting proposal development and scope creation. Ability to mentor junior staff and conduct QA/QC reviews.
