Description Fleet Preventative Maintenance Specialist Job Type : Non-Exempt Pay : Competitive Hourly - 2nd Shift We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Fleet Preventative Maintenance Specialist to join our innovative team. In this exciting role, you will travel to various locations equipped with necessary maintenance supplies, performing essential on-site maintenance activities for a wide range of machinery and vehicles, including heavy-lift equipment and light-duty trucks. Your responsibilities will encompass monitoring inventory, inspecting vehicles, and executing preventative maintenance tasks effectively. This position primarily involves off-shift work, which can be flexible and include nights and weekends. To thrive in this challenging environment, you should possess both physical and mental stamina, along with in-depth knowledge of mechanic's tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance (PM) activities efficiently within our organization. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubricating, and servicing equipment and vehicles. Operate and inspect machines or vehicles to identify defects or functionality issues. Advise clients on matters that may prevent vehicles from passing inspection. Assemble mechanical components as per specifications. Create action plans for all maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate records of work logs, repairs, and maintenance in both written and electronic formats. Monitor inventory levels and order new parts as required. Provide consultation to machine and vehicle users regarding maintenance and preventive procedures. Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies while performing daily equipment inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Understanding of preventative maintenance scheduling. Certification from a vocational or trade school is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of journeyman-level mechanic experience is required. In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems. Meticulous attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving. Outstanding communication and customer service skills. Physical capabilities: standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), and working in all weather conditions. Valid driver's license is required. Experience with hydraulic systems in fleet vehicles. Certification for Aerial Device Maintenance. Physical Requirements: Rarely: walking, kneeling, squatting, crawling, depth perception, lifting between 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. Occasionally: standing, twisting, gripping, reaching. Frequently: sitting, touching, manual dexterity, reading, hearing. Constantly: seeing. Safety: Due to the nature of the industry and the requirement to work with hazardous equipment, individuals must maintain sufficient eyesight for safety, focus for extended durations, withstand various weather conditions, and wear personal protective equipment as necessary. Ability to identify job site hazards. Demonstrate strong cognitive problem-solving skills. Capable of reading and understanding job builds and schematics. Work near hazardous parts and equipment.
