The Environmental Health & Safety Manager provides enterprise-level leadership for all Singer EHS programs while directly managing day-to-day safety for the Contract division and overseeing two EHS Specialists who manage daily safety operations at the Elverson, PA and Paterson, NJ Distribution facilities. This role develops Singer-wide strategy, governance, policies, and performance standards, ensures regulatory compliance across all business units, and may additionally oversee future roles such as a Driver Safety & Compliance Manager. Regular travel is required, with more frequent site-level involvement at Contract division project locations (estimated 25% travel). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT Manage EHS Specialists responsible for day-to-day safety operations at the Elverson, PA and Paterson, NJ Distribution facilities. Provide coaching, performance management, technical guidance, and workload prioritization for the EHS team. Lead hiring, onboarding, and development for future safety roles. Ensure consistent and uniform application of EHS policies, procedures, and reporting standards across all supported sites and business units. ENTERPRISE EHS GOVERNANCE & STRATEGY Responsible for the development of safety policies, training programs, strategies, plans and procedures. Identify, design and develop company health and safety management systems, training programs and procedures as well as enforcing regulatory regulations and company policies. Coordinate, standardize, and govern all Singer safety training programs; personally deliver training required for Contract division field operations and specialized enterprise-level programs. Ensure company-wide compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable environmental regulations. Analyze safety data and perform trend analysis; providing reports and safety metrics to management team. DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS UNIT OVERSIGHT Ensure EHS Specialists deliver required OSHA and equipment training at Distribution locations; approve training content, provide subject-matter support, and deliver training directly when supporting the Contract division or when enterprise-level instruction is required. Ensure new-hire safety orientations are consistently delivered by EHS Specialists at Distribution locations. Oversee monthly safety inspections completed by EHS Specialists at Distribution facilities and review documented findings. CONTRACT BUSINESS UNIT Conduct job-site safety audits, field hazard assessments, pre-task planning reviews, and project safety briefings for Contract division sites; partner with project managers and superintendents to correct hazards at the source. Lead enterprise standards for construction-specific safety programs (fall protection, scaffolding, LOTO, confined space, hot work), while directly supporting Contract division site teams with hands-on implementation, field audits, and compliance verification. Ensure compliance with state-specific construction safety regulations and subcontractor safety management requirements. SECURITY OVERSIGHT Develop Singer's enterprise security framework and oversee implementation by EHS Specialists at Distribution facilities; directly support Contract division sites in establishing appropriate access, contractor controls, and jobsite security measures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety and Facility Security in a warehouse environment. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred. DOT Experience Preferred. Construction Experience Preferred. Considerable knowledge and understanding of health and safety compliance, regulations, standards, safe work practices, and procedures is essential. Experience leading multi-site teams including remote, field, and project-based staff. High level of enthusiasm and initiative to understand and implement safety techniques, standards, regulations, and requirements. Strong desire to drive improvement with the belief that all injuries and incidents can be prevented. Passion and capability to work with all levels of the organization including senior leaders, managers, and hourly employees. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience managing safety programs at multiple locations. Completion of OSHA 40-hour training preferred. First Aid/CPR training preferred. Position is based at Singer Headquarters in Elverson, PA.
