Position Summary The Commercial Framing Materials Estimator Specialist is crucial for supporting commercial construction projects by delivering precise material take-offs, analyzing construction documents, and working closely with sales and project teams. This role calls for strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to confidently interpret construction plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough building material take-offs for commercial framing projects in accordance with company standards and local building codes. Analyze construction documents to pinpoint required materials and ensure bid accuracy. Identify and rectify potential discrepancies in material lists before proposal submission. Prepare comprehensive take-off documentation to support contractor bids and proposals. Collaborate closely with outside sales representatives regarding structural and material-related project aspects. Monitor take-off status and assist with sales, project coordination, and customer support. Provide data and documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and internal systems. Assist in educating contractors on specifications, material usage, and industry best practices. Maintain and improve estimating and take-off software systems. Review actual versus estimated material usage upon project completion. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 2 years of education in Architectural Design (or a related degree) or equivalent hands-on industry experience. Strong grasp of construction plans, building design, and construction terminology. Knowledgeable about structural systems, engineered wood products, I-joists, and engineered layouts. Familiarity with local and regional building codes. Proficiency in fundamental mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exceptional organizational, communication, and follow-up skills. Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Comfortable managing tight deadlines. Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary starting at $65,000+ based on experience. Health and dental insurance.
