Job Description We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Leader to successfully manage heavy civil construction projects, including roadway construction, sitework/excavation, and underground utilities. The ideal candidate will take charge of all project phases, ensuring that we meet timelines, budgets, and uphold the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively. Responsibilities Project Management: Spearhead the planning, execution, and closing of projects while managing schedules, budgets, and resources in roadway construction, sitework, and utility installations (water, sewer, stormwater). Coordination: Lead and motivate project teams, including subcontractors, engineers, and field crews, to achieve project goals. Financial Oversight: Monitor project costs, prepare budgets, and handle change orders to secure project profitability. Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Safety Leadership: Champion safety by implementing and enforcing OSHA safety protocols, organizing safety meetings, and performing audits. Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders, providing project updates and resolving any issues that may arise. Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and manage any delays or disputes effectively. Documentation: Keep comprehensive records, including progress reports, submittals, and closeout documents. Qualifications Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in roadway construction, sitework, or underground utilities. Skills: Proficient in project management software (e.g., HCSS HeavyJob, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Procore); strong analytical and communication abilities. Knowledge: Understanding of asphalt paving, grading, drainage, and utility systems; experience with DOT or municipal projects is a plus.
