Mechanical Construction Inspector Work Location: Nashville, TN Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview Duties/Responsibilities: Conduct thorough construction inspections and quality assurance for various mechanical systems projects at an international airport facility. Perform on-site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure they align with approved construction documents and standards. Evaluate contractor’s work and inspect all delivered materials while verifying certifications. Document daily observations and report any noncompliance to improve project oversight. Coordinate field testing of mechanical systems and materials to validate performance. Review and approve pay applications related to mechanical work to maintain budget accountability. Examine contractor's quality control and safety protocols for effectiveness. Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure contractor compliance with safety standards. Provide expert technical guidance on the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and equipment. Monitor contractor performance against mechanical system standards and building codes to ensure compliance. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred. At least 5 years of construction inspection experience focusing on HVAC and mechanical systems. Knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and equipment installations is essential. Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and mechanical system testing procedures is important. Certifications in mechanical or HVAC systems are advantageous.
