Job Description

Join American Cruise Lines as a Fleet Maintenance Technician! The Fleet Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the engineering and technical operations of our US-Flag cruise ships. You will assist in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance of all American Cruise Lines' (ACL) certificated vessels. Be a part of a dedicated team collaborating with regional Port and Fleet engineers, working to keep our vessels operating smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Assist and support the Fleet Engineer and Assistant Port Engineer. Identify and troubleshoot technical vessel issues, providing quick solutions to reduce downtime. Repair equipment and address maintenance requests. Be on the front lines for repairs, maintaining the vessels' schedules. Coordinate and ensure timely completion of projects and repairs. Make frequent visits to ships, offering technical information and guidance to shipboard Engineers as needed. Maintain familiarity with USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA, and other federal regulations. Contribute to the Water Management Plan and monitor water quality. Perform additional duties as assigned. Attributes for Success: Strong problem identification and solution skills. Ability to respond promptly to time-sensitive tasks. Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel. Skilled with hand and power tools. Knowledgeable about diesel and gas engines. Willingness to learn and take direction from port engineers. Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license. Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card). Education and Experience Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent; appropriate related experience is also acceptable. Work Environment: This position involves ongoing travel to various vessels in the fleet. Additional Requirements: Undergo a background investigation. Pass a pre-employment physical. Ability to manage physical demands of the job, including navigating stairs and ladder-wells, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling. Capable of lifting items up to 20 lbs.
