Key Responsibilities: Perform repair work as detailed on repair orders efficiently and accurately. Diagnose malfunctions and execute the necessary repairs. Coordinate with the parts department to acquire needed components. Tag and save parts for warranty or customer requests. Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety or service needs. Communicate with service advisors regarding additional work requirements or timelines. Document all work done and recommendations on repair orders. Conduct road tests when necessary. Engage in manufacturer-sponsored training and stay current on technical bulletins. Oversee apprentice technicians as required. Report any machinery defects or malfunctions. Maintain the cleanliness of customer vehicles and notify management of any issues. Ensure the shop area remains organized and clean. Be accountable for dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them in good condition. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal. Utilize tools and equipment safely and report safety concerns immediately. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training. Preferred Certifications: Brakes Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck Diesel Engines Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck Drive Train Certification for Eaton and Meritor Electrical/Electronic Systems Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck Heating and Air Conditioning Certification for Commercial Truck Manual Drive Train and Axle Certification for Auto/Light Truck State Emission Certification State Vehicle Inspector Certification Paccar MX Certification Cummins Engine Certification on ISB, ISC & ISX Preventive Maintenance Inspection Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck Suspension and Steering Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck Language Skills: Ability to comprehend and provide simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, safety guidelines, and maintenance manuals. Skilled at presenting information effectively in group settings. Mathematical Skills: Competent in basic arithmetic operations and able to interpret Multi-Meter readings. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to execute detailed written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
