Position Overview The Mid-Level Associate Actuary plays a pivotal role in the design and refinement of pricing structures for commercial lines, developing advanced loss-premium projections and applying actuarial standards to provide insights that guide business strategy. This position also involves working with ISO data, mentoring junior analysts, and contributing to the organization's financial strength. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement innovative pricing structures for commercial lines of business. Lead in creating detailed loss-premium projections to influence strategic business decisions. Conduct analyses using fundamental actuarial principles and prepare comprehensive actuarial reports. Present summaries of actuarial analyses to various stakeholders including Home Office, Field management, and regulators. Enhance and streamline methods to perform and document actuarial analyses efficiently. Mentor junior actuarial analysts, providing guidance on spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data. Prepare for and progress through CAS examinations through practical experience and dedicated study. Qualifications: ACAS designation or nearing completion. Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical foundation. Proven understanding and application of advanced actuarial principles. 6+ years of experience in property & casualty insurance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and beginner to intermediate skills in SQL. Preferences: ACAS designation with the intention to achieve FCAS. Experience in pricing commercial lines such as commercial auto. Familiarity with ISO products, data, and methodologies. Experience using R and Python for actuarial analyses. The base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $155,000, adjusted for experience and geographic location. In addition to competitive salary, a generous benefits package is included.
