KPMG is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Associate to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. Key Responsibilities: Support multi-state companies in addressing state and local tax issues, including compliance, advisory, planning, controversies, and technical research. Review state income tax returns and schedule K-1 documents during preparation and post-review. Conduct research and draft technical memoranda addressing income and franchise tax issues. Assist clients in preparing for state and local tax controversies, including discussions with auditors and the preparation of protests. Utilize advanced technology and innovative solutions to enhance state tax compliance delivery. Supervise, mentor, and help develop junior staff members. Qualifications: At least three years of experience in tax research, preparing/reviewing state income tax returns for corporations and partnerships, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues. A Master’s degree from an accredited institution (or a Bachelor's degree with sufficient credit hours to pursue CPA certification) or a JD/LLM. Strong ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients. Exceptional writing, compliance, communication, and tax research skills.
