Job Overview The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in providing high-quality, individualized patient care. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will leverage your nursing expertise to deliver competent and safe care for patients and their families, collaborating closely with the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes. Organization Information Join the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), a leader in healthcare services. Employment Type Employee - PRN Pay Rate Hourly with rates starting at $42 per hour for Tier III and $45 per hour for Tier IV based on commitment. Additional shifts and weekend or holiday work will be expected. Job Responsibilities Provide care in one of the following areas: Med Surg/Tele Emergency Department Neurology & Critical Care Commit to working at least one weekend or night shift per 6-week schedule. Work during two holidays each year. Scheduling and Availability Per Diem employees will fill open shifts after full-time and part-time staff are scheduled, with hours not guaranteed. Provide shift availability 14 days in advance. Attendance and Call-out Policy Notify your supervisor at least 4 hours before a shift if you are unable to work. Receive a two-hour notice for any shift cancellations. Compensation and Benefits Per Diem employees will not receive additional holiday pay or benefits. Job Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred; however, current MUSC employees may have an Associate or Diploma degree but must enroll in a BSN program within two years. Active RN licensure in South Carolina required, along with current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Proficiency in manual skills for patient care tasks. Capacity to lift and transport patients and equipment. Visual and auditory abilities for patient interaction and monitoring. Stamina to handle the emotional and physical demands of nursing work. Mobility to navigate various care environments. Strict adherence to infection control protocols.
