Pay and Schedule Touring Driver Pay: Starting pay on tour: $1,800/week, with potential to earn up to $2,500/week as responsibilities increase. Regional freight between tours averages $1,475/week (mileage-based). Important: All drivers begin in Averitt's regional division for the first 30 days (mileage-based pay). Touring assignments and salary-based pay start after transfer approval. Touring Driver Schedule: Tour Season: March to October. Tours last for weeks; home time may be limited unless routes are near your residence. Off-Season: November to February. Drivers usually run regional, no-touch freight to maintain steady income. Your Responsibilities Transport staging, lighting, and production gear for major live events. Assist with loading/unloading and securing equipment using straps and load bars. Safely maneuver in tight or unconventional venue locations. Drive mainly at night to meet rigorous delivery deadlines. Driver Highlights Overnight driving is common to meet event schedules. Must commit to completing the entire tour or production run once assigned. Routes cover the U.S. and Canada (passport required; Averitt reimburses if necessary). CDL-A Touring Truck Driver - Live Event Truck Driver - Concert Freight Driver - Production Truck Driver CDL-A Touring Driver Requirements Must have at least 30 days of driving experience with Averitt before being considered for a Production and Event position. 21 years of age or older. Class A CDL with a willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement. Flatbed certification is required (training will be provided). Valid passport for Canada tours (Averitt reimburses if needed). 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years. Entertainment/touring driving experience preferred but not mandatory. No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years. No DUI or DWI convictions within the past 5 years. No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the last 5 years. No serious violations within the previous 12 months. No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years. Essential Functions Drive effectively. Open/close trailer door (force requirement: 46 lbs). Count freight accurately. Complete fuel tickets accurately. Hook/unhook trailer (force requirement: 90 lbs). Perform thorough pre-trip inspections. Extensive travel - ability to sit upright for extended periods. Move freight (force requirement: 54 lbs). Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Enter/exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle safely. Enter/exit the rear of a trailer from ground level.
