Role Overview As a Certified Radiologic Technician, you will play a vital role in performing essential diagnostic imaging examinations, including X-rays and computed tomography (CT). Your expertise and compassionate interaction with patients will significantly enhance the quality of care provided. You will ensure patients receive exceptional attention while strictly following safety protocols and infection control measures. Key Responsibilities Conduct X-Ray and CT studies as ordered by the medical team. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care within records and departmental logs. Prepare patients for procedures through proper positioning and the use of immobilization devices when necessary. Adjust equipment settings for optimal imaging quality by determining suitable exposure factors. Effectively communicate with patients, providing clear explanations of procedures and addressing their concerns. Implement radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for both patients and staff. Follow strict infection control practices to safeguard the health of patients and colleagues. Adhere to drug protocol procedures, administer first aid, and utilize emergency equipment when needed. Contribute to a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established regulations and procedures. Participate actively in Mass Casualty exercises and training sessions. Complete all required compliance training, emphasizing Joint Commission and client-specific standards. Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications: A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Radiology Technician, including at least 6 months within the last year. An unrestricted license or ARRT certification is mandatory. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is necessary. Experience on a military site, either as a government contractor or subcontractor, is highly preferred. Education Required: Successful completion of an accredited Radiology Technician program (Diploma, Certificate, or Associate Degree) is required. U.S. military training certification may fulfill this educational criterion. Physical Requirements: Candidates must meet pre-deployment physical standards, which includes prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Additional Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is essential. A valid U.S. passport with a minimum of 18 months prior to expiration is required and must remain current throughout the assignment. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically MRPT. Current clearance holders are encouraged to apply. Willingness to relocate for the duration of the assignment. Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
