Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob DescriptionLead the design, development, and delivery of complex electrical systems across multiple defense programs. This leadership role operates at the tactical and operational levels, with occasional strategic engagement. Drive electrical engineering solutions from concept through fabrication and testing, supporting platforms including wheeled and tracked land vehicles, aircraft, and unmanned systems. The role reports to the Lead Electrical Engineer and Chief Engineer and partners closely with Program Management and engineering leadership.Responsibilities Translate operational and functional requirements into executable technical designs. Conduct trade studies evaluating risk, cost, and performance. Develop solutions to a production-ready and testable state. Mentor and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines. Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and evolving customer needs. Lead efforts with limited upfront requirements. Essential Skills Electrical engineering expertise, with high voltage and electrical design engineering experience. Proficiency in electrical power distribution systems and system-level electrical architecture design for complex platforms. Experience driving designs from blank-sheet concept through prototype fabrication and testing. Hardware and software testing skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High-level Electrical Engineering expertise with 10+ years of experience preferred. Experience working in constrained or contested environments. Ability to work independently and own outcomes. Professional Engineer (PE) license. FE / EIT certification. SPRDE Level I or higher. IPC CID or CID+ certification. Eligibility for SSBI / Secret or higher clearance. U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (CUI initially). Work EnvironmentEngage in defense-focused engineering programs within fast-paced, high-uncertainty, high-impact environments. The role may involve occasional after-hours or weekend meetings with engineering leadership. Collaborate closely with Program Management and engineers. Work as an independent contractor with full-time hours.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $72.12/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
