Position Summary The Systems Administrator 3 team member will possess and utilize a senior level expertise skillset in the day-to-day administration of a mission-critical, multi-platform datacenter environment for a 24x7x365 utility business, including Windows server operating system installation, patching and troubleshooting, Active Directory administration, virtualization technology administration, server hardware administration, datacenter infrastructure management, disk management, backup and recovery, network resource management, advanced incident support, application installation and troubleshooting. They will provide advanced support to the organization, contribute to departmental and enterprise projects and participate in a rotating, after hours on-call schedule. Primary Position Responsibilities Provides primary expertise in system administration, building, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting both physical and virtual server environments. Provides primary system oversight, configuration, and troubleshooting of all aspects of Active Directory including replication, certification authority, DHCP, DNS, group policies, user and security group administration, etc. Participates in and sometimes leads departmental and enterprise projects, assists in producing quality thorough project plans, adheres to project plans and recommends plan changes as needed. Manages server hardware infrastructure lifecycle including commissioning, firmware and software image management, security patching, hardware upgrades, licensing, and decommissioning. Performs daily system monitoring, verifies the integrity, performance and availability of hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviews system and application logs, and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Administers all aspects of virtual hypervisor infrastructure performance, availability, security, resources, and capacity planning. Administers storage area network (SAN) infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity. Administers enterprise backup system to ensure server data is backed up successfully and is recoverable. Manages the security of server infrastructure including firmware updates, server patching, identity access management, and permissions. Manages the availability, security, and performance of data center technology at HQ, DR, and remote sites. Provides IT infrastructure support to the business by responding to incidents and requests submitted through the ticketing system. Must be available to respond via personal smart phone during working and non-working hours. Smart phones will be registered with the CoServ Mobile Data Management system. Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor. Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support. Secondary Position ResponsibilitiesProduces and maintains documentation, including configuration data, change requests, installation procedures, diagrams, and test plans. Enhances efficiency through automation and scripting. Attends CoServ University training as required. Performs other duties and activities as directed. Position RequirementsHigh School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency. 6+ years experience in server and data center technology administration. Solid hands-on experience in Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022. Solid hands-on experience with all aspects of Active Directory 2019 and newer. Solid hands-on experience with enterprise OS server patching. Solid hands-on experience with virtualization hypervisor administration. Experience with server hardware administration. Experience with scripting and process automation. Experience with enterprise data backup systems. Experience with datacenter computing administration. Solid understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals. Education, Experience, and Certifications PreferredExperience with identity and privileged access management. Experience with Linux operating systems. Experience with SAN administration. Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and testing. Experience with anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard security techniques and practices. CompTIA A+, Server+ certifications, or related topics preferred but not required. Skills and Abilities RequiredCustomer service oriented. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (M365, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Works within a change management environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent grammar and composition skills. Skills and Abilities PreferredExperience with project management principles. Physical RequirementsOperates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copiers, etc. Indoor, office environment. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Ability to drive occasionally as needed. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Other RequirementsMust have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license. Must have reliable home high-speed Internet service for situations where remote work is necessary. Participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule with the team to provide after-hours support as needed.
