Job Description

PSA's machine shop is growing and looking for talented CNC machinists. An ISO9001:2015 certified shop, PSA's scope of work includes low qty runs to assist their automation builds, contract/OEM manufacturing, military R&D, aerospace, etc. The shop has 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, as well as live tooling lathes, allowing us to produce virtually any part. PSA is currently looking for a skilled CNC machinist / Programmer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accurately interpret engineering drawings and determine optimal machining methods to meet required part tolerances, fits, and finishes. Development of G-Code CNC programs for CNC mills and lathes by utilizing CAM software. Defines machining configurations to achieve design, including equipment selection, cutting tool selection, and CNC programming for CNC Operations. Programs mills and lathes by entering data (including zero and reference points), setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements, and proving part programs. Makes minor &/or major adjustments to machinery to ensure that it is operating accurately, safely and efficiently, while production stays within established quality parameters. Create 3D models using Solidworks as needed for use in programming. Develop accurate and efficient fixtures for part production on as need basis. Create machine tool setup sheets with detailed operator instructions and visual aids. Assist operators with initial run machine tool set-up, troubleshooting, and improving programs to maintain productivity. Machining experience mills and lathes with live tooling. Must be competent in shop math, including algebra and trigonometry. Able to read and understand fabrication drawings, assembly diagrams, work orders, quality control documents Understands drawing tolerancing, types of press fits, thread classes, GD&T. Able to use basic hand tools. Employee must provide their own tools. Project specific/ specialty tools are supplied Can read and interpret measurements using dial calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, snap gauges, go nogo gages Understands how to drill, tap, ream, burnish, repair threads, etc. Open to overtime as needed. Some long days and weekends as required Open to additional roles within the organization as needed Able to stand for 8-10 hours daily, as needed Maintains a neat and efficient workstation
