Senior ADABAS Mainframe Systems ProgrammerRemote - United StatesJR012423Position SummaryThe successful candidate will perform mainframe database Software upgrades coupled with administration and tuning to support our customers' Software AG ADABAS environments. The individual will need to work with vendor personnel to achieve timely solutions of database problems. The individual will be responsible for day-to-day database maintenance such as database definition changes, backups and restores, monitoring space growth, database reorganizations, creating and maintaining disaster recovery procedures and overall support of customer needs and requests. The successful candidate will be called upon to perform a variety of tasks including database optimization, database performance reviews and tuning, and new client onboarding. The individual will provide 24×7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members. The individual will maintain documentation for all the tasks completed on a regular basis and adhere the change management policy.Position reports to Senior Manager - Mainframe Database.What the Ideal Candidate Brings to this RoleRequired Qualifications help to assure new Associates are set up for success in their role with Ensono. Extensive experience with the following: o Best practices of Software management, maintenance, and documentationo Configure and manage Software AG ADABAS and related products such as Naturalo SME in the topics of:ü ADABAS database administration, NATURAL Security, Fast Pathü Database Designü Defining FDT and DDMs.ü Performance tuningü Use of ADABAS utilities such as Delta Save Facility, ADABAS Utilities Natural utilities, SMA, Program Migration tool, Review, etcü Knowledge of log archive and change accumulation utilitiesü Knowledge of ADARUN Parameters and Buffer pools.ü Knowledge of Protection logging and Command Logging.o Establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, disaster recovery, product and database security, maintenance, and utilizationo Reviewing new versions of Software AG ADABAS and related products for functionality, advising how they benefit the cliento Manage vendors relations and quickly resolve problems and questionso Applying Licenses for SAG products and applying ZAPs and Service packs for Software AG productso Cooperation with the Disaster Recovery Services, successfully execute tasks associated with any given customer's disaster recovery plans.o Support planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activitieso Troubleshooting and solving production database issueso Identification and resolution of performance issueso Database administration including administering and customizing ADABAS/Naturalo Database design and experience with batch and online Software AG ADABAS/Naturalo Database monitoring including space monitoring and performance monitoringo Maintenance and usage of Software AG ADABAS and related products and utilitieso SoftwareAG products administrationo Applying license keys to SAG productso SAG products license management at DR site & bringing up ADABAS & Natural at DR siteo Installation & upgrade of ADABASo Installation & upgrade of Naturalo TRIM product upgrade & maintenanceo EntireX maintenance Experience in a large, 24×7 multi-database environments and the ability to manage competing priorities Other Qualifications Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations) Ability to work as part of a team and assist teammates when needed Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients · Follow ITSM change control procedures· Self-motivated and able to work independently.· Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients· Must be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations.· Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.WhyEnsono (?Ensono is a place to make better happen - for our clients and for your career. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
