Salary: $18.03 - $21.50 Hourly Location : Lakeville, MN Job Type: Seasonal Department: Utilities Opening Date: 01/23/2026 Position Our Utilities Division is looking for Seasonal Utilities Maintenance II workers to help support our city's infrastructure. This seasonal role offers high-value field experience and an insider's look into Public Works and civil engineering. As a vital member of the team, you'll ensure our underground systems remain clean, mapped, and fully operational. What you'll do: Maintain Systems: Work with Vactor trucks, high-pressure Jetters, and high-tech sewer cameras to inspect and maintain vital storm and sanitary lines. Map Infrastructure: Assist Locators in identifying underground infrastructure, ensuring the safety of excavation projects in the city. Support the Crew: Take on diverse projects and tasks to support our Public Works Division. The ideal candidate is a safety-conscious team player with a basic grasp of tools and a willingness to learn specialized equipment. Positions available are for a maximum of six-months, April - October assignments. Up to 40 hours a week. First review of candidates will begin on February 9, 2026. The position is open until filled. Major Areas of AccountabilityPositions that qualify as Maintenance II - Utilities: Utilities positions are available for assisting sewer cleaning, televising and locating operations. Vactor, jetter and sewer camera helpers - assist Utilities Maintenance workers with cleaning and televising storm and sanitary sewers. All positions will be expected to perform other various duties as assigned. Locate helper - assist Utilities Maintenance workers locate underground infrastructure. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Some knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in general maintenance. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to operate a variety of motorized vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. Physical strength sufficient to do strenuous laboring tasks under varying weather conditions. Ability to read maps and use locators to find and mark water and sewer lines. QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age. Must possess valid Minnesota driver's license and have a good driving record. Ability to operate or ability to be trained to operate various equipment as mentioned above. Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
