Job Requisition Name Chemical Production Lead Job Requisition No VN8310 Work Location Name USA - Sarasota Worker Basis Full Time Worker Type Employee Contract Type Permanent Applications Close Date Mar 31, 2026 Purpose We are seeking a Chemical Production Lead to serve as the on-site expert in chemical processing and distillation. This role is highly hands-on at a small site, requiring deep technical knowledge to manage day-to-day operations while also handling documentation, data analysis, analytical testing lab experience, equipment / process troubleshooting, and cross-department collaboration. You'll also support the development of less experienced staff through mentoring and knowledge-sharing, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in daily operations. Key ResponsibilitiesManagement of production processes including the purification of raw materials. Utilize SCADA controls system to control and run manufacturing processes. Quality testing and quality verification of incoming and processed chemical materials including analytical chemical test methods and analysis of associated data. Clean, monitor, maintain and repair production equipment and glassware. This includes system infrastructure and subsystems including pumps, valves, heat exchangers and other critical system components. Understand and experience with bulk chemical vacuum distillation, separating the components of a liquid mixture through selective evaporation and condensation. Read, execute and document chemical manufacturing processes according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs). Accurately record process data, maintain spreadsheets, and prepare reports to support compliance and continuous improvement. Ensure proper documentation and recording of manufacturing processes according to protocol. Perform repetitive tasks and adhere to the production schedule. Carefully load and unload chemical materials throughout chemical processes. Maintenance and operation of analytical testing equipment including gas chromatography. Implement new and effective methods for laboratory excellence (cleaning, 5S initiatives, handling, particulate count, key parameter data collection etc.). Manage the inventory levels on raw materials and supplies by working with the Purchasing Manager to ensure dual sourcing for all the critical raw materials. Implement and maintain the necessary safety procedures for the department. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and managers. Mentor and guide junior staff in best practices for safety, chemical handling, and production techniques. Maintains (with the team) general laboratory cleanliness and organization. QualificationBachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline required; higher degrees a plus. 1-3 years of experience with bulk chemical vacuum distillation of monomers. Proficient with analytical chemical testing and data analysis including gas chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography. Experience working with quality systems in a chemical manufacturing environment. Strong collaboration skills across production, R&D, QA, and maintenance functions. Ability to repair and maintain vacuum distillation systems and equipment including liquid pumps, vacuum pumps and associated gas / liquid valves. Must be able to work in a chemical environment wearing proper PPE. Physical requirements - Comfortable in a bulk chemical production setting with processing of metric ton batch sizes.
