Estimator

Summary: We are representing a reputable commercial general contractor seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a range of commercial projects, including ground-up builds, tenant improvements, retail, office, education, and healthcare. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial projects at various design stages Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to define scope and assess constructability Perform accurate quantity takeoffs across multiple trades and disciplines Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope completeness Develop and maintain updated budgets, bid packages, and preconstruction documents Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and design coordination sessions Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives Support preconstruction handoffs and assist operations teams with project transitions Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and assist in developing bid coverage Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred 3-7 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor Experience in ground-up, tenant improvement, or institutional projects (K-12, healthcare, higher ed) Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to accuracy Compensation + Benefits: Competitive base salary based on experience Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave Professional development and advancement opportunities Collaborative and supportive team environment
