Location: Arden, NC Department: Engineering Reports To: Sr. Project Manager / Department Manager FLSA Status: Exempt IMPORTANT: Active North Carolina PE License Required Applicants must hold a current North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license. Applications without an active PE license will not be considered. About the Role FEI is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to serve as a Civil Project Manager supporting land development projects from concept through completion. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for technical quality, regulatory coordination, project financials, and team management. This position is not intended for EITs or unlicensed engineers. Key Responsibilities Serve as Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager on land development projects Ensure project quality, efficiency, and compliance with standards of practice and company policy Lead client relationships and coordinate with regulatory agencies Manage budgets, schedules, and project accountability Oversee and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Technicians Prepare and review plans, reports, specifications, permits, and construction documents Lead or attend meetings with clients, municipalities, boards, and agencies Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design including: Subdivisions, grading, erosion control Water, sewer, and stormwater systems Stormwater management and final plats Coordinate permitting with outside agencies Required Qualifications Active North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license (required) Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) 5+ years of land development engineering experience 2+ years of project or people management experience Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Valid North Carolina Driver's License Preferred Experience Ajera or similar financial/project management software Client-facing consulting experience Familiarity with land surveying principles Why FEI Relationship-driven culture with real project ownership Leadership role with decision-making authority Stable workload and predictable schedule Mon-Thu 7:30am-5:30pm | Fri 7:30am-11:30am FEI does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or staffing agencies.
