Location Waukesha,WI Description Our client a top multi-family property management company is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Waukesha, WI. In this position, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, apartment turnovers, and common work orders in a large apartment setting. This is a full-time position that pays $25-$30+/hour based on relevant experience, works standard hours 8:00am-5:00pm M-F, and includes a generous benefits package - health, vision, dental insurance, and 401(k) with company match after 30 days of service. We are seeking a candidate with previous maintenance experience inside a multifamily (apartment complex) setting. In this role you will be responsible for preventative maintenance and responding to work orders for common issues regarding HVAC, plumbing, light electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, appliance repair, and painting. Duties and Responsibilities Complete work orders from residents within a 24-hour period. Replace filters and clean air conditioning vents as needed Replace breezeway light bulbs as needed Perform HVAC repairs as needed Perform light electrical repairs on items such as appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, circuits, etc. Perform light plumbing work, such as clearing stoppages, replacing fittings, etc. Replace broken glass, tile, carpet, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, blinds, locks. Paint, interior and exterior, when necessary. Perform carpentry work, such as fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, sanding and refinishing floors. Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, etc. in common areas. Assist in grounds work when necessary, including picking up litter and "trashing out" vacancies. Maintain pool chemical levels and cleanliness. Repair concrete, masonry, roof, fencing, when required. Be responsible for refurbishing of apartments prior to resident occupancy (Make Readies). Have knowledge regarding water and gas meter cutoffs, all apartment and fixture cutoffs, and sewer cleanouts, and post map of same. Make keys, change locks and assist in maintaining key control and other work as directed Handle "on call" duties whenever needed. Participate in standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in apartment maintenance responding to work orders that includes light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and HVAC. EPA Certification (refrigerant transition and recovery certification) - preferred, but not required. Own basic set of hand tools. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Available to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Ability to perform work responsibilities at other locations in the area, as needed.
