Job Description Job Title: Lubricant Driver Company/Department: Southern Counties Lubricants Division:Manager: Facility Manager FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Management Position Y/N: N EEO-1 Job Category Code: 7. Operatives Normal Working Hours: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm, M - F Job Summary: In this position as Fuel Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting gasoline and diesel to and from specified destinations. Essential Job Duties: Operates a truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations. Prepares, receives and provides proper documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. Maintain safe communication with Dispatcher to receive delivery or pick-up instructions and/or changes to existing schedule. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Receive training to properly and safely load from various loading racks. Off-load / Load bulk lubricants into tanks, totes, packages or drums. Maintain good records of product movement and repackaging. Maintain safe communication with dispatch to receive instructions or changes. Maintain driver logs and cargo documentation according to federal and state regulations. Vehicle maintenance and presentation. Identifies disciplinary situations or employee conflict and manages communication appropriately. Assures confidential interchange with subordinates as appropriate. Demonstrates and instills in others an appropriate sense of urgency. Recruits and retains high quality team members. Other Duties:Lubricant Deliveries (as needed). Help with delivering fuel tanks and fuel trailers (as needed) Read Production Schedules, orders and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed. Clean-up oil spills on the premises and delivery locations. Repair broken or worn out equipment (as necessary). Experience & Education:High school diploma or equivalent. Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. Must have a good driving record. Five years experience is preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English (written and oral). Bilingual preferred English/Spanish. Must be forklift certified. Must be able to function independently. Computer & Software Skills: Preferred to have foundational computer skills including: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook email and calendaring) and the Internet. COMPUTER & SOFTWARE SKILLS DIRECTIONS: Cell phone use including text messaging. SkyBitz tank monitoring software. Travel:Occasional local travel (60 Mile Radius) and offsite training seminars. Makes sound decisions and sets goals based on available information and evaluates situations and requirements to plan and adjust work accordingly. Projects accurate future occurrences based on current or historic data. Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision; able to make decisions about the severity of variable situations and evaluate the most appropriate response; able to make appropriate decisions related to customer requests. Work Environment & Exposures: This predominant work environment for this position is an office setting. The position may require occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, vibration and loud noise levels.
