Job Title: Lowboy Driver Location: Kernersville, NCIndustry: Construction Job Type: Full TimePosition Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lowboy Flatbed Driver to transport heavy construction equipment and machinery safely to and from job sites. The ideal candidate has experience hauling oversized and overweight loads, operating a lowboy flatbed trailer, and ensuring timely, secure deliveries in compliance with safety and transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities Operate a lowboy flatbed truck and trailer to haul construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and other machinery. Load, secure, and unload equipment safely using chains, binders, and other securement methods. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck, trailer, and cargo; report mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs, trip reports, and delivery documentation. Track and report work hours and time spent on each job accurately in the company's timekeeping system. Coordinate with dispatch and job site supervisors to schedule pickups and deliveries. Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation laws and safety regulations. Assist with equipment mobilization/demobilization at job sites as needed. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Minimum 2 years' experience hauling heavy equipment with a lowboy flatbed trailer preferred. Knowledge of load securement, oversize/overweight permitting, and safe transportation practices. Ability to operate, load, and secure heavy construction equipment. Experience with timekeeping systems and accurate logging of work hours. Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures. Punctual, reliable, and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings or occasional weekends. Physically capable of climbing, securing chains, and performing safety inspections. Preferred Skills Experience in construction equipment hauling or heavy haul operations. Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting of truck or trailer issues. Strong communication skills and professionalism on the road and at job sites.
