The right candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle problems that arise with poise and a positive attitude.Position: Hotel Front Desk Agent Department: Front OfficeJob Type: Hourly, Seasonal (6 months or less) Reports to: General ManagerResponsibilitiesGreet and welcome all guestsTake and confirm guest reservationsAnswer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, promptly relaying messages as requiredMonitor, organize and forward emails as neededCoordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to accommodate guest service requestsCommunicate room offerings and on-site amenities to current and potential guestsKeep ice, snacks, drinks and merchandise stocked and ready for guest purchaseProvide knowledgeable suggestions of local restaurants and attractionsAccurately post room charges and taxes to guest foliosVerify account postings and balancesEnhance guest experience by evaluating guest feedback, following up with guestsSummarize operations and prepare reports for management as requiredPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsGood understanding of office administration and basic bookkeeping practicesExcellent organizational and multi-tasking abilitiesStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office programsPrior experience using hotel reservation software (i.e. Cloudbeds, Infor, etc.) preferredAbility to work at least 25 hours per week - weekends and holidays requiredCompensation & Benefits$16 to $20 per hour, based on experienceEarned Sick Pay in accordance with the State of MichiganLodging and dining discounts
