Job Purpose: - The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to patients during Shift 2. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all individuals under care. The CNA plays a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and comfort of patients, contributing to their overall treatment and recovery process. Key Responsibilities: - Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. - Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff. - Support the nursing team in implementing patient care plans and therapeutic activities. - Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients by maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards. - Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere. - Assist in the transportation of patients within the facility as required. - Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. - Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care. - Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in patient care. - Respond promptly and professionally to patient needs and emergencies during the shift. Required Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program. Required Experience: - Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting. - Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric care is preferred. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff. - Ability to perform basic nursing care tasks including bathing, feeding, and assisting with mobility. - Competency in monitoring and documenting patient vital signs and changes in condition. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. - Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. - Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in healthcare.
