Position Type: Wrap Around Services/Nurse, School Consulting Date Posted: 7/25/2025 Location: Wrap Around Services The DeKalb County School District is seeking an experienced and professional Nurse, School Consulting.Salary Grade/Schedule: E - Schedule Salary Schedules: Click Here Title: Nurse, School Consulting Provides leadership for a team of school nurses and health personnel to maintain and enhance student health, thereby improving educational opportunities through collaboration with healthcare providers, homes, schools, and the community. Provides leadership and guidance to a team, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Essential Job Duties • Manages, supervises, and provides continuous support to school nurses and other school health personnel. • Organizes programs and processes, establishes tasks and sets priorities for the assigned school-based team. • Ensures school-based nurses and employees adhere to all relevant policies and procedures. • Analysis of data and a variety of relevant factors to resolve issues. • Identifies and resolves operational issues that may occur beyond established guidelines. • Recommends process improvements via communication, planning and establishing clear goals when needed based on evaluation of project workflow principles. • Participates in 504 meetings as well as develops accommodations for students with special medical needs according to the law and nursing practice act. • Offers medical knowledge, guidance, and resources to support educational staff. • Provides health-related advice and consultation to school personnel on student health concerns and policies. • Collaborates with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health issues to promote a safe educational environment. • Interacts and collaborates with all school district personnel to interpret and explain medical information, as necessary. • Performs other duties as assigned pertaining to the overall health and wellbeing of the school district. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an approved accredited college or university in Nursing required. • Minimum three (3) years of pediatric nurse experience or three (3) consecutive years of K-12 school nursing. • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the State of Georgia required. • Current certification as a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid instructor required (May be ongoing or in the process of obtaining).
