Position Description TheStudent Health Center (SHC) is a primary care clinic providing services toenrolled students. In addition, the SHC manages immunization compliance and isa resources and liaison for the opt-out student health insurance program. The Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing awide range of administrative assignments while coordinating and facilitatingthe smooth and efficient flow of patients through the Student Health Center. efficient flow ofpatients through the Student Health Center under the supervision of nursepractitioners. This position often serves as the first point of contact forpatients and parents, requiring an awareness of the psychosocial needs of apatient. As such, this person must have the knowledge and skill to supportpeople on all levels and manage a multitude of diverse assignments. This position reports tothe Medical Director of the SHC. Essential duties and responsibilities The primary point ofcontact at the reception includes interaction with students, staff, and faculty both inperson and on the phone. Monitorand respond to SHC email and voicemail messages to main number. Must haveknowledge of the most current information about the immunization policy, releaseof records, and student health insurance plan and waiver policy. Managementof postal mail. Taking/routingmessages to providers. Manage patientschedule in electronic health record (Medicat) including schedulingappointments with necessary patient instructions, cancel appointments, andcheck in and out management. Learn andbecome proficient with multiple aspect of the electronic health record (Medicat):patient management module, immunization compliance management module, andportions of visit charting module (preferred name, patient summary, all notes,tasks, progress notes, phone messages, scanning records) Moneymanagement at front desk including reports and end of day reconciliation. Orderingand management of office supplies Recordsmanagement includes records releases, referrals and scanning into EHR Maintenancework orders. ImmunizationCompliance Management as delegated Opening and closing clinic responsibilities for the waiting room, administrativefront desk, and bathroom. Updating and maintenance of SHC website and Instagram page Communicate regularly with clinic administration and activelyparticipate in team meetings for effective problem solving and communication. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Tobe able to perform the above essential duties and responsibilities as well asother duties as assigned by clinic administration under minimal supervision. QualificationsAbilityto multitask and maintain composure during stressful situations. Must be ableto prioritize activities and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced workenvironment. Able to workindependently and as a team with excellent problem-solving and communicationskills. Effectively communicatewith clinic staff around clinic flow and if help is needed. Promotes positivepatient relations maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and dignity. Commitmentto diversity and the university's mission, vision, and values. Computerskills with ability to utilize and navigate between multiple systems. Andexperience with electronic medical record keeping, including documenting, andmaintaining patient care record. Education, Experience & Certification Requirements High School diploma or equivalent (GED) Two or more years administrative office support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Ability to multitask and maintain composure during stressful situations. Must be able to prioritize activities and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. This position requires a criminal history background check. Preferredin addition to above requirements: AAdegree preferred or equivalent experience. Three(3) or more years of administrative support experience Experiencein healthcare Experiencewith word-processing, data entry, report generation, spreadsheets, and websitemaintenance skills as well as keen attention to accuracy and detail. Physicalrequirements Occasionally lift, push, pull and/or moveup to 20 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body requiredfor extended use of computer. Compensation at a Glance Salary Range: $24.00 per hour - $25.50 per hour Seattle University has provided a compensation range that representsits good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at thetime of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will bedetermined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selectedcandidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equityconsiderations, and available market information, and not based on acandidate's gender or any other protected status.
