About the Role: We are seeking a Senior High Voltage Cable Design Engineer with extensive underground experience in high voltage design and a strong working knowledge of Cymcap software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing complete cable system solutions, including grounding details and bonding schemes, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. This role requires outstanding technical expertise, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to lead formal technical presentations. Key Responsibilities: Cable System Design: Develop comprehensive cable design solutions for HV/EHV transmission systems (69kV - 500kV), integrating accessories, fiber optic components, grounding details, and bonding schemes. Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on calculations, project execution, and best practices. Customer Collaboration: Engage with customers to define technical specifications, identify requirements, and provide formal technical presentations on product applications. Manufacturing Support: Assist production teams by developing testing plans, leading design handover meetings, and troubleshooting issues on the manufacturing floor. Research & Development: Execute R&D initiatives using the Stage Gate process, managing timelines, budgets, and logistics to drive innovation and efficiency. Industry Expertise: Represent the organization in technical meetings, conferences, and customer training seminars to address critical HV/EHV cable design challenges. Documentation & Standards Compliance: Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, proposals, licensing, and safety documents in compliance with ICEA, AEIC, IEC, and IEEE standards. Safety & Process Optimization: Promote workplace safety and process improvements aligned with best industry practices. Must-Have Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 10 years of proven experience in underground high voltage cable design. Proficiency in Cymcap, Comsol Multiphysics, SolidWorks, utoCAD, Matlab, PSCAD, Pull Planner, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of power transmission cable industry standards, materials, and testing processes. dvanced expertise in thermal, mechanical, and electrical field calculations for HV/EHV systems. Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills to interface with customers and stakeholders effectively.
