Assistant plant manager - 1st shift

job summary: We are seeking a 1st Shift Assistant Plant Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering operations for our 24-hour food manufacturing facility. In this role, you will manage 1st-shift operations by overseeing personell and specialized production equipment to ensure peak efficiency across 1st shift. You will also contribute directly to the development of proactive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. location: Denison, Iowa job type: Permanent salary: $115,000 - 140,000 per year work hours: 8am to 6pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead capital project development and post-approval management. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption while meeting all safety and environmental standards. Implement systems such as total productive maintenance and preventive / predictive maintenance. You will optimize resource scheduling to increase plant capacity and significantly decrease unscheduled downtime. Empower the maintenance team through delegation and clear accountability. As a safety champion, you will enforce standards through training and monitoring to foster a secure, motivated work environment. Act as the primary problem-solving expert. You will drive long-term solutions, provide daily support to operating teams, and resolve equipment failures quickly to prevent repetitive issues. Develop and track KPIs to report on equipment reliability, supplier effectiveness, and overall equipment effectiveness.
