Position Type: Related Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 12/1/2025 Location: Lake Forest School District Date Available: Mutually Agreeable Closing Date: Open Until Filled TITLE: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) QUALIFICATIONS: Eligible for or currently holds licensure as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant per Delaware Code Title 24 Chapter 37 §3708 and Senate Bill No. 320 (152nd General Assembly). Holds current ASHA C-SLPA certification (or other Board-approved equivalent). Knowledge or experience with data collection related to speech therapy goals. Excellent organizational and management skills. Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, human relations and collaboration skills. REPORTS TO: School Principal (in consultation with the Special Programs Supervisor) Supervising Delaware-licensed Speech/Language Pathologist (clinical supervision, per §3702(16)) LOCATION: Lake Forest East Elementary School JOB GOAL: To assist the licensed Speech/Language Pathologist in improving students' communication skills by providing direct treatment support, data collection, and clerical preparation under supervision, in accordance with Delaware law and district policy. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of a Delaware-licensed SLP and in accordance with §3702(13)a of Title 24: Conduct speech and language screenings without interpretation, using screening protocols specified by the supervising SLP. Provide direct treatment assistance identified by the supervising SLP by following written treatment plans, IEPs, or individual support plans. Document student progress toward meeting established objectives without interpreting results and report to the supervising SLP. Collect and tally data for assessment purposes, without interpreting the data. Assist during intervention sessions by collecting data, preparing materials, and performing related clerical duties as directed. Schedule activities and prepare charts, records, graphs, and other data displays. Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance. Participate, with the supervising SLP, in research projects, in-service training, and public relations activities. Sign and initial treatment notes for SLP review and co-signature. Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement. Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services. Maintains lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, as well as a directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists, and related services. Compiles case history data on those cases where additional family history, health history, early developmental history, and environmental history are deemed appropriate. Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid driver's license and daily access to a vehicle required for travel throughout the school district as needed. Ability to physically assist students in self-care areas and mobility/ambulation. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 + 1. Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education. EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel, with input from the supervising SLP.
