Monitors cardiac/telemetry status and vital functions of all patients. Performs as a Unit Liaison, including physician communication, maintaining electronic logs, EMS radio support, and coordinating patient transports. Adheres to infection control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees. Other duties as assigned. Uses and maintains emergency equipment proficiently. Documents treatment and administered care in the electronic medical record according to established policies and procedures. Assists with replenishing code cart supplies and other essential equipment. Assists the charge nurse and/or primary nurse with patient care throughout the department as assigned. Coordinates the immediate off-load of patients arriving via EMS with the primary nurse and/or charge nurse. Collaborates with the primary nurse to implement appropriate physician orders to expedite patient care.
