Community Support Specialist School-BasedDepartment: School-Based Youth CPRC Employment Type: Full Time Location: Troy Compensation: $25.54 - $26.81 / hour DescriptionBe a Bridge for Student Wellness as a Community Support Specialist School-BasedStep into a meaningful role supporting students and families by bringing behavioral health services directly into school communities. As a School-Based Community Support Specialist, you'll partner with educators, families, and students to promote resilience, access resources, and improve mental health outcomes right where they're needed most. This Is a Great Opportunity for Someone Who: Believes in early intervention and the power of supportive school environments Is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families in a collaborative setting Values a holistic, strengths-based approach to behavioral health and student success Key Responsibilities Acting as a liaison between the school, families, and behavioral health services Supporting students with individualized, goal-oriented behavioral health services Providing education, coaching, and skill-building to students, families, and school staff Collaborating with school teams and other professionals to advocate for student needs Assisting families in navigating and accessing resources in the community Completing wellness plans, documentation, and assessments in accordance with agency standards Helping students and families build natural support systems and long-term resilience Driving to school and community locations to provide services as needed Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise • High School/GED required • Associates or bachelor's degree in a human service related field preferred QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must qualify for position based on overall CSS requirements in at least one of the options listed: o Qualified addiction professional; o Bachelor's degree in a human services field from a college or university included in the U.S. Department of Education's database of accredited schools at o Any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience; o Four years of qualifying experience; or o Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree as designated by the Department of Mental Health. • Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities. • A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required You'll Be A Great Fit for This Role if You: Are energized by working in schools and supporting youth through a trauma-informed lens Are confident navigating both education and behavioral health systems Value collaboration and advocacy as tools for improving student outcomes Can communicate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams Are passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where students can thrive
