Agri Loan Specialist

Description First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for an Agri Loan Specialist at the Carthage Ag Office located in Carthage, Mississippi. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to the Agri Loan Officer(s) with regards to the loan making and loan closing process. Other responsibilities will be supporting the Agri Loan Officer(s) with post-closing loan documentation and loan servicing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; Associate's degree or equivalent business school training with a minimum of two to three years equivalent experience; or combination of education and experience is acceptable. Agricultural background or familiarity a plus. COMPLEXITY: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Moderately difficult and involved, requiring adaptation and interpretation of established practices and procedures to cover problems and situations to which their application is not clearly defined. Requires attention to details and accuracy in record keeping and reporting due to impact on customer relations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, volume and percentages. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide excellent, first level internal and external customer service by supporting the delivery of financial services. Preparing FSA & SBA guaranteed loan packages. Corresponding with FSA on new loan submissions and loan servicing items. Managing disbursements from loans. Ensure lien releases are executed with builders, contractors, and vendors when loan disbursements are made. Managing and ordering annual farm inspections. Construct post-closing customer loan file. Handle post-closing quality control, ensuring loan file is accurate and trailing documents are collected in a timely fashion for all loan types. Track and maintain annual financial statements and tax returns and assist Agri Loan Officer(s) with annual financial analysis. Communicate with customers by phone and by written correspondence. Other administrative duties as assigned such as answering phones, scanning, etc. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Position requires individual who has excellent customer communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills. Also requires an individual who has excellent organization skills, who pays close attention to detail, can work well under pressure, and think strategically. Must be self-motivated and be able to work well with others. Requires strong computer background in MS Excel and Word.
