Job Responsibilities As a Diesel Technician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks to the highest manufacturer and dealership standards. Responsibilities include: Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and vehicles according to manufacturer specifications Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine systems, fuel systems, emissions systems, and drivetrains Use diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to identify issues accurately Test-drive vehicles and verify all repairs are completed properly Communicate with Service Advisors to explain needed repairs and provide accurate time estimates Execute warranty repairs according to Ford and manufacturer guidelines Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Technician / Diesel Mechanic (Ford experience a plus) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel injection, emissions systems, and diagnostic equipment High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety Excellent communication and teamwork skills Willingness to stay current with rapidly evolving automotive and diesel technologies Compensation & Benefits Competitive flat-rate pay based on experience and certifications Paid vacation and personal time off after 90 days Paid holidays Ongoing paid training with opportunities to earn Ford and ASE certifications Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) retirement plan Employee discounts on vehicles and service Career advancement opportunities across 10 Berglund locations Safe and professional working environment About Us At Berglund Ford, we’re proud to be part of a family-owned business with a long-standing reputation for quality and service in Southwest and Central Virginia.
