ATR Details Position Details Search Number PJ # 7353 Title Deputy Title IX/VI Coordinator Category Professional Department Title IX Office About The Position: The successful candidate will assist in ensuring SUNY Plattsburgh's compliance with federal, state, and local non-discrimination laws, with a focus on Title IX and Title VI. Reporting directly to the Title IX Coordinator in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, key responsibilities are expected to include, but are not limited to: coordinating and completing the intake and assessment of reports and complaints; completing, or referring and assisting in, the investigation of reports and complaints under applicable Title IX and/or Title VI processes, policies, and laws; managing investigative processes as assigned for student-student reports or complaints; assisting with bias incident reports and the Title VI complaint response; maintenance and management of privileged case management records; monitoring and analyzing data to assist in detecting trends and informing ongoing educational efforts; working with the Title IX/VI coordinator in facilitating determinations on case findings; collaboratively addressing student requests for accommodations due to pregnancy related conditions; and effectively managing matters related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct in the absence or stead of the Title IX/VI Coordinator. This role calls for a candidate that will build trust and work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners, while balancing the multiple varying interests of those diverse stakeholders and work closely with a variety of university and community resources. Areas of frequent collaboration include, but are not limited to, University Police, Community Development, Campus Housing & Operations, Athletics & Recreation, Student Leadership, and Human Resources & Payroll Services. The Title IX office ensures equitable treatment and provides support, resources and education to address and prevent instances of sex discrimination, harassment, and violence within the university community. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Three or more years of relevant experience in sexual violence prevention/response, or dating/or domestic violence prevention/response, or sexual harassment prevention/response, or closely related field Knowledge of restorative practices, such as mediation Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in sensitive situations Ability to build relationships and establish collaborative partnerships across the university community Experience in the development and delivery of training presentations Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and evidence of success in working with individuals with diverse backgrounds Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Social Work, or a related field Experience working professionally in higher education with a college student population Investigative experience in such areas as student conduct, education law, equal opportunity/affirmative action, human resources, or other related fields Experience implementing prevention education workshops, campaigns, and outreach initiatives, preferably including peer education efforts Strong case management skills Experience in alternative dispute resolution facilitation, or informal resolutions, or related mediation practices Certifications in Title IX and/or Title VI related training topics through a professional organization Salary (Applicant View) $65,000 minimum, plus excellent benefitsAbout Our UniversitySUNY Plattsburgh, home of the Cardinals, is part of the largest comprehensive university system in the United States.
