Salary: $16.24 Hourly Location : Goodlettsville, TN Job Type: Sea Job Number: 2026 Department: Parks and Recreation Opening Date: 02/13/2026 Under general supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor, the Lifeguard will ensure the safety and surveillance of users within the swimming pool and its enclosure by preventing and responding to emergencies. Responsible for observing and protecting the visitors at the swimming pool to assure compliance with the rules for the visitors' safety; maintaining the safety of customers in and around the pool; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with citizens, staff, other departments, community groups, and businesses; evaluating situations and making decisions; performing surveillance of pool with a rescue tube from the guard stand, and being able to respond in an emergency; cleaning the pool and surrounding area and buildings; helping in the concessions stand as needed; giving first aid; collecting fees and charges. Works private pool parties as assigned. Knowledge of all aspects of public swimming pool life guarding; swimming pool operations and rules; first aid techniques; establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and employees; evaluate situations and make decisions. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is a current lifeguard certification from either the Red Cross or YMCA; current First Aid, AED and CPR certification; possession of a valid.
