Description RN Nursing Supervisor -Weekends Full Time or Partime Saturday & Sunday 7am-7pm or 7am-11pm or 16hours shifts or can pick up during week if wanted as floor nurse Supervisor: Director of Nurses RN Weekend Supervisor Job Summary: The RN weekend supervisor will manage all aspects of the facility during the weekend such as customer satisfaction, Admission/discharge protocols, and coordinate care delivery across the interdisciplinary team. The RN weekend supervisor coordinates and supervises resident care activities, nursing personnel, and operations and assures the safety of residents. Core Competencies/Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Oversees direct care activities by conducting frequent rounds on unit to evaluate resident condition and staff performance to assure that practices are consistent with evidenced based practice and facility standards. Enforces organizational policies and ensures standards of are are maintained Evaluates residents' status and unit operations at beginning of shift and ensures staffing levels are appropriate. Plans and delegates assignments to nursing staff Assures that physician orders are current, appropriate, transcribed, and carried out and that documentation regarding resident condition is accurate and complete. In conjunction with charge nurse, ensures that families and physicians are advised of changes in the resident's condition, Incidents/accidents, or other significant developments as indicated Supervise direct care staff to ensure that facility policies and procedures are followed, and that all state and federal regulations are adhered to. Oversee direct care staff assignments, and supervise that duties and responsibilities are completed in a timely and efficient manner Monitors and evaluates infection control practices in collaboration with facility infection control coordinator Assist with admissions/discharges to/from assigned unit, perform assessments/evaluations as necessary. Collaborates with ancillary services for efficient, timely, and accurate delivery of service (laboratory, pharmacy, and hospice, diagnostic) and monitors equipment/supply use for cost control. Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assures resident safety at all times Maintains open communication regarding staff or care delivery with Director of Nursing Establish and promote a positive relationship with facility staff, independent physician practitioners, and area hospitals Conducts environmental rounds and identifies and reports environmental conditions that are issues or present a risk to staff or residents Assists families in understanding facility's policies and procedures Assists with clinical emergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation Provides direct care as needed Attends orientation and in-service as well as direct staff to attend as required by facility policy or state and federal regulation Other duties as requested or assigned. Usually works indoors but may have to work outside during outside events and parties. May have to get into awkward positions or work in cramped spaces. May be exposed to loud noises or sounds that are distracting. May be exposed to diseases or infections from contact with residents or other staff members. Often exposed to contaminants. May sometimes need to wear safety gear such as gloves and or masks. May have to handle hazardous waste in accordance with infections control procedures. Scheduled hours may vary based on facility needs. Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements: Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: Must demonstrate clinical assessment skills at the level necessary to meet the job requirements. Must be a licensed RN in good standing in the state of Florida Employee must be able to pcrfonn the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations, Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift, stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell.
