Position Type: Secretarial/Administrative Assistant for Student Services Date Posted: 1/27/2026 Location: Educational Administrative Office Date Available: 06/01/2026 Closing Date: When Filled District: Bensenville Elementary School District 2 Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Administrative Assistant Location: BSD2 Educational Administration Center Date Available: 7/1/2026 Title: Administrative Assistant for Student Services (12 month position) Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Position Summary Bensenville School District 2 is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant for Student Services to provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Student Services Department. This position plays a critical role in supporting special education, Section 504, and related student services while ensuring confidentiality, compliance, and effective communication with staff, families, and external agencies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide administrative and clerical support to the Student Services Department, including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and record maintenance Coordinate with the Business Office and special education cooperative for billing, attendance, transportation, and other program-related matters Maintain communication with parents/guardians and staff and serve as a point of contact for families, staff, and outside agencies regarding Student Services inquiries Maintain confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and district procedures Assist with data entry, reporting, and document management related to special education and student services Assist in the enrollment, attendance, and student information system/IEP system process Coordinate transportation of students with disabilities in collaboration with the transportation department within the district and the cooperative Work with Human Resources to complete hiring compliance requirements for department staff Support compliance activities related to state and federal timelines and documentation Assist with departmental purchasing, invoices, and budget tracking as assigned Prepare materials for meetings and departmental activities Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services or designee Qualifications Spanish Bilingual preferred High school diploma required; associate degree or coursework in office administration or a related field preferred Minimum of two years of administrative or secretarial experience, preferably in a school or educational setting Knowledge of special education processes, terminology, or student services preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with student information systems preferred Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Skills and Competencies Attention to detail and accuracy Professional judgment and discretion Collaborative and service-oriented mindset Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong customer service skills when interacting with families and staff Physical Demands Ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively with District employees and vendors. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and address issues using written, oral, or diagram-based instructions. Frequent use of hands, walking, talking, hearing, and operating office equipment. Ability to focus close-up tasks and adjust focus as needed.
