Position: Quality Manager Location: Brentwood, TN Travel: The ideal candidate must possess the ability to travel. This role will be 75% travel and 25% at our corporate office in Brentwood. Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Quality Manager is implementation, support, and management of practices for assuring that products and processes adhere to specifications and standards and all internal/external quality audits. The Quality Manager oversees the administration and continual improvement of quality management systems and practices at the assigned facility. Responsibilities Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality. Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity. Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products. Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams. Maintain and Report Quality KPI’s weekly and monthly Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives. Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Maintain and enhance the company's performance relative to its quality certifications (eg. IATF 16949, ISO- 14001, ISO 18000, IATF16949) Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures. Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company. Provide and oversee inspection activity for product throughout production cycle. Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes. Access the customer's websites to manage information such as performance results and their specific requirements. Promote the process approach and risk-based thinking. Focus effort to ensure that the administration/quality management system achieves the intended results. Have the commitment to direct and support people and to contribute to the effectiveness of the administration/quality management system. Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts. Create and direct environmental test functions and applications. Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams. Design, develop, and implement quality control training programs. Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area. Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control. Identify specific environmental requirements of the customer. Inform the management of the operation of the Quality System. Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Systems are established and implemented in accordance with the standards. Provide resources for the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental, Safety, and Quality Administration. Promote the fulfillment and awareness of customer requirements, of quality system requirements, and all relevant state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements in Environmental and Safety aspects. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality management position; preferably in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of ISO-9001 and IATF standards. Skilled in the use of Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) Relevant experience may be substituted for all or a portion of the education requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/quality manager production environment with demonstrated knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and 5S theories and practices.
