position Data and Research Analyst Intern 24 hours a week, 2 days in the office division/department Research and Strategy nature of position The Data and Research Analyst Intern will support the Research and Strategy team by assisting with data analysis, research projects, and the development of research materials that inform CHFA's strategic goals. This intern will engage in both quantitative and qualitative research, help synthesize findings, and contribute to projects focused on affordable housing lending and finance. This internship is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about research, enjoys telling stories through data, and is eager to gain experience in affordable housing, economic research, and strategic analysis. This role reports to the Director of Research and Strategy. essential functions The intern will support the Research and Strategy team with tasks such as: Assisting with research requests across departments by gathering, integrating, and organizing data from multiple sources. Helping document and present metrics through reports, statistical charts, and data visualizations using internal and external data. Contributing to the creation of visual communications and presentation materials that highlight CHFA's research findings. Assisting in the production of research reports, briefs, and other materials for internal and external use. Supporting cross-departmental inquiries related to CHFA business activities and the Colorado economy. Helping design surveys, compile data, analyze responses, and contribute to executive summaries. Participating in research related to CHFA's strategic initiatives, including innovation-related work. Collaborating with the Business Intelligence team on various research studies and data projects. Assisting with qualitative research efforts, including interviews, online research, focus groups, and synthesis of findings. Performing other duties and special projects as assigned. knowledge, skills, and ability The ideal intern will demonstrate: Strong critical-thinking skills and high attention to detail. Coursework or experience with data analysis, research methods, or statistical tools preferred. Proficiency in Excel and basic Microsoft Office applications required. Experience or familiarity with Tableau, statistical software, or GIS tools is a plus.
