Department Advancement Operations-OPS Compensation $18.00 Hourly Required Qualifications General Description / Primary Purpose The Data Support Specialist works within the Advancement Operations team to provide clerical and technical support within the division's data operations. This position assists with maintaining the university's donor and alumni database. Acting as support for database users, the Data Support Specialist helps process common data requests and verify data. Core responsibilities include: -Assisting with internal support tickets. -Conducting routine data entry and data hygiene checks. -Running scheduled data imports under supervision through existing templates. -Assisting data analysts by performing initial data checks on reports, dashboards, and data pulls. Job Function Responsibilities include, but not limited to: -User Support & Ticket Resolution (Primary Function): Provides front-line support to internal database users. This role will process standard internal tickets, assist with documentation, and escalate complex issues to superiors. -Database Operations: Uses Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Omatic Cloud to execute standard import/export processes and update constituent records as directed. -Data Quality Assurance (QA): Performs data verification and Quality Assurance (QA) reviews on data pulls from data analysts to ensure the information is accurate prior to delivery. -Data Cleanup & Hygiene: Identifies and flags data anomalies and executes routine data checks to identify data anomalies. -Security & Compliance: Processes user access from confidentiality agreement, update security logs to record who has access, and files confidentiality agreements. -Scheduled Reporting & Logging: Assists in logging our Fiscal Year reporting snapshots on a monthly basis to ensure accurate historical tracking (FY: July 1 - June 30). -Data Uploads & Imports: Runs monthly data uploads, including employee/alumni information updates through established templates. -Administrative & Ad-Hoc Duties: Documents meeting minutes and action items. Assists with ad-hoc reporting, automation efforts, and other duties as assigned. Departmental Requirements -Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, specifically Excel skills for data manipulation, formulas, and formatting. Familiarity with coding or syntax writing (via an IDE) is a bonus but is not required. -Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot basic user issues and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to resolve them. -Communication: Good interpersonal skills and the ability to explain basic technical steps to the common user. -Adaptability: Ability to work on assigned tasks with potential interruptions. -Organization: Ability to handle multiple assigned tasks and meet deadlines. -Initiative & Learning: A self-starter who is eager to understand the "how" and "why" of data operations and is comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy.
