Work Schedule: Primarily daylight hours, Monday through Friday! On-call obligations for nights, weekends, and holidays. Limited travel to outreach and satellite locations. Responsibilities: Covers call and off-shifts on a rotational basis. Performs a variety of technical ultrasound procedures to assist in a patient's medical diagnosis. Displays knowledge of equipment operations, anatomy, and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data/documentation. Documents and considers patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings. Ensures all exams are properly coded and networked through appropriate systems, and ensures all charges are correct for exams performed. Assists with training staff, student sonographers, and physicians. May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and/or equipment. Demonstrates ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Qualifications: Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program or RDMS registered. Ultrasound program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Must have completed Physics portion of RDMS registry. 2 years of ultrasound experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: RDMS registered or registry eligible. Must obtain RDMS in Pediatric Ultrasound within 24 months of hire date. Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI clearances with renewals. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days of hire. UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
